Jerseylicious

Okay, so I have another obsession TV show, Jerseylicious

It isn't just the over the top, gaudy style or higher-the-hair-closer-to-God hair styles. The show is centered around a hair salon in central Jersey & the staff that work there.  These people are real & they are interesting to watch.  Yes, they make good TV.  These people are over the top like the housewives. Unlike, the housewives, these folks are working class and seem to have more real life problems like the rest of us.  They only difference is they are mostly Italian, loud and proud of being from Jersey. They fight like one big family.   But I like this show. I am a girl, I like make up & hair.  The cast is lovable, most of the time.  Some of them seem like the spawn of the devil at other times.  But they people too right?

We cannot forget back in the day the big hair of the 1980s all started from Jersey. It sucked that my hair is so straight it would be completely flat. It still can't hold a curl to this date.  I tried though. Thanks to Jersey, they have brought back the big hair.

Real Housewives of...

Today I am watching a marathon of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" on the Bravo channel. I am admitting here an now, I am hooked on the Real Housewives series.  Not sure why I am though, I am not envious of them in anyway.  In fact, it must be the train wreck effect.  Here are these beautiful, privileged, rich women who sit around and fight all the time.  I do believe in "mo' money, mo' problems".  However, with a lot of it seems these women seem to create some of their own problems. And know I don't believe its all "editing".  The things they say in those interviews are actually what come out of their mouths.  They need to own up to it.  But I digress no one is perfect.  Some of these women are kooky, funny, down-to-earth, compassionate.  I don't think though this is the a-typical "housewife" & I hope that woman of the rest of America don't think they are getting short changed.  This is a very small group of woman, and not the norm. All in all, just good TV.

Energized?

Today is one of those days where some energy has a hold of you that you aren't going to take anything lying down... literally.  After being up until 4:30am doing random cleaning of my apartment, I woke to my alarm at 7:30 because I was expecting an important phone call at 8:00.  I was surprised that the person called at the stroke of 8:00. Actually saying "stroke of" doesn't quite fit any more since we are in the digital age & stroke is a reference to an analog clock, but I digress.

Another side-note, my highly intelligent youngest son, Zack is truly extremely smart, however, he cannot read a analog clock because he grew up in schools which all had digital clocks.

So back to the topic at hand.  Even though I have probably had approximately 6 hours sleep in the last 3 days, I have been energized.  I would have to say it has to do with the thought of my youngest, the fore-mentioned Zack, graduating from high school next month. I am excited for him!! My last one finally out of school & on to college.  Its the thought of coming into contact with my ex, his father which has me in a tailspin.  He is the reason I moved to California from Washington.  I have not seen nor spoken to the man in almost 3 1/2 years. I know I will have to see him when I go back for my son's graduation.  He knows how to get under my skin, say back handed compliments with his passive-aggressive nature. He is still ticked about the fact since my son is over 18 as of March, he doesn't get no more child support from me. I will have to write about that another day.  So the thought of coming in contact fills my mind with dread.  I want no drama.  Can he resist?  I know I can.  I always have.  But can he?  Time sure will tell.

So all these thoughts roaming in my head and excitement about Zack's graduation has got me energized.  It's a nice change from the lethargic state the FS (Fibromyalgia) leaves me in most days. Besides, the sun is shining! Its a nice day to take a walk.

Lets try this again

I began this blog as just a way to get some of the thought that I had rolling around in my brain.  So I could ramble on about my life & the experiences I have had. But something happened and I just stopped.  For months now I have been thinking, I need to start again.  Just open up a dialogue for if not anything but for myself.  It may not make sense to anyone else, and that doesn't bother me too much.  I just need to ramble.  If it's silly, so what.  Anyhow, that's what this is.  Trying again to get my dialogue with myself going.  If anyone reads it, can relate, cool.  If not, that's cool too.

Another Thursday

Ey, yey, yey.  What a week.  What a day.  Okay so far, I went to see a doctor in Fairfield on Monday.  This is to establish care with a new doctor since the doctor I was seeing left the practice I was going to.  So this new doctor was talking about what my options are in my current situation.  She is suggesting that she consult with another doctor in the practice about getting me is as soon as possible to get the biopsy done and not wait until the end of April with is when my appointment is with the other doctor.  Also she wants to see about getting a CT scan.  So anyway now I have these new words in my vocabulary.  Biopsy, tumor, cyst.  Hmmm... Got to learn more about these.

Oh on top of all these, I got a letting in the mail that says it is time to get my annual mammogram.  The all important squish your breast between to pieces of plastic so they can take a picture. It has been the only time in my life in which I have felt sorry for women with small breasts.  I have an abundance of breast and wow oh wow they tug and pull those suckers in there to get a good picture.  However, it is really important to get it done.  My grand mother was a breast cancer survivor.  So I do it to honor her.

Tomorrow is Friday. Its the Friday before my birthday.  I am excited to get my party on this weekend.  Gonna go see Supo Guapo at Stars on Friday night.  Then on Saturday night it is Time Bandits.  I'm gonna do my best not to get too messed up, but enjoy the time dancing.  I hope so much that I can make it to mass on Sunday.  Maybe I might go Saturday.  I know I gotta make sure I go to church.  Especially since it is lent.  I am excited this year.  It is my first lent as a full flegged confirmed Catholic.

We will see what happens.. Hopefully there will be no drama.

May the Lord's peace be with you.

Just another Thursday.. yeah right

Today started like any ordinary day.  Woke up after hitting the snooze button 4 or 5 times. (I know that is my limit or I will be late for work) Showered, Tried my best to apply make up.  Somedays I am successful and I look like I know what I am doing and others I look like I let a 2 year old put it on me. Go figure.

So I at work and I am working on spreadsheet for the Loss Mitigation (another name for repo). My cell phone rings.  It is my doctor's office. I hurry out to the hallway to take the call (I can't be on my cell "on the floor" or at my desk. I have to go into the hallway).  My doctor called to tell me the ultrasound I had done on Monday shows I have a fibroid tumor in my uterus and the walls of my uterus has thickened. She said the fibroid is about 4 cenimenters.  So she is going to send me to an OB/GYN to do a biopsy.  So that had really made my day.  I have to say I am a bit frustrated.  My life is one of those which there is always something going on.  Sometimes there isn't any peace.  But I guess that is what life is all about.  I am not worried about this.  I did some reading at most of the time these type of fibroids are benign.  The doctor said I should hear from the OB/GYN in a few days to schedule an appointment.  I guess in the mean time I just need to take it easy and relax.

So I am now is wait and see mode.  Stay tune...

Top o' da mornin'! Everyone is Irish today

Yep that's right, today is the day we celebrate the death of the patron Saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick's day. Which legend says he drove the snakes from the country.  Everywhere you go there is green and Guiness is the drink of the day.  It would be nice to have one right now.  But being that mother nature has decided to visit me this week.  I wasn't up to going out.  Besides, its a Wednesday.  I still gotta work tomorrow.

Speaking of work, we all had a ton of fun today.  You seen, I work for a credit union.  No, not a bank.  A credit Union.  There is a difference.  A bank has customers, a credit union has members.  Banks are for profit, credit unions are not. Anyhow, I digress, we had fun.  I work in a collections department.  Right now during this economy, this is not the funnest place to be since it seems everyone is has lost their job, mortgage has flipped, etc.  So my co-workers have a tough job.  Mostly trying to get water from a stone.  So every chance we get we try to do things to have fun.  Almost always, these fun days include food.  Then we had competitions throughout the day.  Being that I am not a collector, but an analyst. I wasn't involved in most of the competition.  However, there was one they did which was hilarious!!!

Now, the collectors has to collect X amount of dollars to have the COO and the CFO eat a concoction mixed up by the supervisors.  So these executives ate a combination of pistatio pudding and some sort of vegatable.  The looks on their faces were priceless.  The real fun was if the collectors surpassed another X amount of dollars then one of the Senior VPs would have to eat as well.

This lady is one smart cookie.  She turned the tables on her peers.  They all thought that they would get to see her eat some icky mash up.  The door opens and she comes in with this neon green wig, a magic light up wand & a small pail (her pot of gold).
So what no one knew was that her pot was full of $5 bills. She said to the collection crew, she would pay everyone in the department $5 if she didn't have to eat the mash.  Well, you know the old adage,
"Money talks, bullshit walks."
Everyone took the money.  The other Sr. staff's dropped when she did that because THEY ate the icky food.

It was really fun.  I have to say, we have the most fun in the whole credit union.  They may have strict dress codes & rules.  But we can also let our hair down once in a while.  We do it oh so well.

Peace out all!
